Testing IFTTT recipe to tweet me

Testing a recipe on IFTTT to see if it will tweet me when a blogpost is created, updating it’s RSS feed to trigger the recipe and create the tweet as an @reply to myself. This one is just for my blog but the idea is it will tweet me when blogs I like not to miss have a new post. A long way round google reader closing but one that might suit my workflow. But just a test.

Update:

The tweet did work but the @reply did not appear in my *Connect* feed or create a notification on my phone like twitter replies normally do. Maybe if I put the @daibarnes at the beginning of the tweet but that doesn’t normally need to be there. Would be nice if IFTTT SMS channel worked on O2 but sadly not. Maybe just set it to trigger emails but they do get lost in the ether when life gets busy. I use flipboard and google reader but school life doesn’t lend itself – for me – to this format of reading.
